Not a quilter?
You do not have to be a quilter to avail yourself of the quilting service. Here are a number of situations that might apply
1. You need a gift for that special someone but do not quilt. Shop at your favorite fabric store or online, for one of many pre-printed panels, chose a coordinating backing and I will create a unique nursery crib quilt or wall hanging. If you do not sew, chose the complete binding service to finish your quilt. You may also avail yourself of my personalized embroidery service to make it truly one-of-a-kind.
2. You would like to have a bed cover quilted and would like to use a solid top and backing. I will add the batting and you chose the digital design to complete the project. Once again, the binding options apply.
3. You are a garment sewist and want to make something using quilted material. Pre-quilted material is usually quite limited in design and supply. Provide me with the necessary length of material for the top and backing and choose the appropriate batting weight. Choose from the collection of Digital designs I have or have me purchase one you prefer from an online distributor. The quilted material will be returned ready for you to cut out from your garment pattern.
4. The applications of using quilted material is almost endless. Not just for garments, it could be used for making bags, placemats, elegant shower curtains, table toppers etc. If you have an idea just let me know and we can work out the details. NOTE: The use of stretchy materials without being stabilized, such as knits etc are not appropriate for any of the longarm services. A popular project is making a tee-shirt quilt. This only works if you use an appropriate fusible backing. If this is applied, then I can work with it.
THE MANY USES OF A LONGARM QUILTING SERVICE
Complete Basting Service
Do you have a quilt project you want to quilt yourself but want to avoid that back breaking work of pinning the layers together or having to wrestle with fusible batting or deal with the messy spray-on adhesive? Send the quilt top and backing to me and I will added the Bosal or Legacy batting. The 3 layers will be basted together on the longarm using 4 SPI across the width of the quilt. The lines of basting will be repeated every 4 or more inches down the length of the project. I will use a serger thread so that the basting can easily be removed when your quilting is completed. Now how easy is that!
SPI = Stitches per Inch Cost $.007 per sq. in.
Traditional pieced quilt tops
This is the most popular use of longarm quilting. You are a quilter and have a pieced quilt top you want quilted but simply do not have the equipment to get the job done. Send me your quilt top and backing. I can provide a high quality batting from Bosal Ltd or Legacy by Pellon. Choose an Edge to Edge digital design from my collection or I will purchase for you a design online from the many companies that offer this product. Choose a thread color from my complete line of Signature cotton collection. Either have the completed quilt returned without the binding, or choose to have included die cut strips 2 1/2 inches wide from material you have provided. Mr. Burton will also provide a complete binding service including machine attaching the binding and hand sewing to the opposite side. This is usually required if you are planning to display your quilt in a show.
